Experts at the discussion

On November 16th, jointly organized by Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Development Association, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP and Advance China IP Law Office (ACIP), the Sino-US Symposium on Patent Invalidation and Litigation was held in Evergreen Laurel Hotel Shanghai.

More than 150 guests, including experts on patent invalidation and litigation, and entrepreneurs at home and abroad attended the symposium.

The symposium was comprised of two sessions. In the first session, Mr. Mr. Kristopher Reed from Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP and Mr. Hongtao QI from ACIP explained in depth the patent litigation tactics in the U.S. and in China respectively, while the latter placed special attention to patent invalidation strategy in China.

The panel discussion that followed was instructive and fruitful. Experts shared their years of experience in tackling international patent invalidation and litigation cases. Among all these experience, it was unanimously agreed that companies should take advantage of the off-house counsels so as to develop the best attack-defense strategy.
