From October 19th to 21st, AIPLA 2017 Annual Meeting was held in Washington D.C., USA. Lucy ZHENG, partner of ACIP, and Judy SHI, director of ACIP U.S. office attended the meeting.
Ms. ZHENG delivered a speech with respect to the “malicious” trademark registration in China – how could international enterprises, especially American enterprises effectively defend against these "malicious" trademark registration? On legislative level, she pointed out respective progress that China has achieved these years – amendments of laws and regulations as well as updates of review guideline – in cracking down "malicious" trademark registration. On practical level, she explained the defense strategies through her analysis of the Michael Jordan case and Tiffany case.
