Mr. Yan has been working in IP industry for more than 14 years and has solid IP legal knowledge and practical experience. For over 12 years, Mr. Yan focuses on technical fields including nano technology, material engineering, chemical engineering and electronics engineering. Mr. Yan is an expert in IP portfolio management with profound experience of drafting and reviewing documents related to patent application, patent office action response and patent invalidation.
Mr. Yan received his bachelor degree from Hunan University in 2002 and worked in Foxconn Group after graduation. In 2004, Mr. Yan joined the Tsinghua-Foxconn Nano Science Research Center. At the same year, he founded the Beijing Foxconn Patent Department which aimed at providing customized IP services for their customer. After receiving systematic training in IP portfolio management, Mr. Yan achieved abundant experience in patent analysis and IP strategies, patent early warning and infringement analysis as well as patent mining and portfolio, which made him an outstanding team leader with experience in training IP professionals.
In IP operation and management, Mr. Yan works on providing a series of IP customized services including trademark, patent and other IP matters. In service for a corporate patent management designed by him, different stages including basic research phase, application research phase and technology industrialization phase etc, are all covered. In early stage of a project, industry and technology analysis and risk assessment are made. During research and development, key technical points are analyzed and patent portfolio is executed. In commercialization of a product, competitor companies analysis, infringement analysis and extended patent portfolio are made to keep the enterprise IP secure and stable. His study and practice make him a specialist in IP operation, research industrialization and the promotion of university and business co-operative R&D.
Mr.Yan has attended a number of patent invalidation oral hearings and litigations, deepening his understanding and practical experience in patent invalidation and patent litigation.
